my computer (acer aspire with windows xp)runs slow, I tried my disk defragment and a box shows up that it can't start.At times screans freeze, and programs will not run.
I have renewed my subscription twice,but it still shows expired on my lap top.
vista won't allow me to use the push buttons on my hp 1209 scanner. one of the options says to access paint and use the scanner camera option, but it is grayed out. any ideas how i can get my scanner to work?

I just re-installed (formatted) windows on my sony VAIO laptop that has a built in wireless adapter. After that windows doesn't recognize my wireless adapter. I checked device manager, turned the wireless off then on, but nothing comes up. What should i do?

It does not give error while hang.It not hang running a specific application and startup / shutdown.

I keep getting a blue screen that says BIOS update disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shawoding.I scanned for viruses ,i scaned for and attempted to recover of bad sectors.But sometimes i still keep getting the blue screen.Sometimes it actually shuts windows down.I checked for the latese windows up dates& my Pc is up to date.I use the McAfee stinger to check foe viruses.Plus i have the McAfee special security edition installed on my pc.If you can provide me with any help ful ideals or solutions it would be grately appreciated.10/23/08 =12:30 pm

i have had my pc and its XP OS for about two years. recently i have had problems in running a CD driven program which has audio (ra) and bmp (among others) files on it and on trying to reinstall it I have varying success. IF it installs and runs, it eventually crashes anyway. When it fails to open ("Cannot access database")the event viewer records "event 1002 category (101)".
i have tried "system restore" to a date when i had no problems with this CD program three tiems but one ach occasion the restore has not succeeded for reasons i donot understand.

When ever I delete a file or folder from "My Documents" it automatically shoes back within a few hours. I see the deleted file go to the recycle bin and I empty it but the fle comes back. Is this something that I can fix myself or would I need an expert to correct it?
I downloaded this and had problems so tried to uninstall it which I guess worked. However it still shows in my control panel uninstall tab. When I try to get rid of it, it wants to install rather than un-install. I called sympatico and they can't get rid of it. So there it sits bugging me every time I go to my Control panel un-install. Recently *.exe files are corrupting in my PC, How to protect PC and I am unable to delete this Desktop.ini & thumbs.db files from my pc, these files are automatically generating in each and every folder, are these files effective for pc ?.
