winzip Options Advertisers

Where is winzip located ? For some reason my XP is using UZ ( ultraZip ? ) to
unzip almost any zip I download and I don't know how my system even got UZ.
How do I make my system use Winzip as the default ?

UZ may be the same thing. XP comes w/an unzip program as part of the OS.
I didn't know that when I d/l'ed Winzip. It was just I had been using it for
yrs.

You need to uninstall the UZ program first, then install Winzip.

It's not located anwhere, unless you installed it. Winzip is a third-party
shareware program, and not part of Windows

Winzip is located wherever you installed it. It's not a native tool in
XP. XP does have a built in ZIP facility, though.

It sounds like Ultra Zip stole Winzip's file associations. One easy way to
get them back would be to install winzip again.

Why re-install?

Just start Winzip and go into Options/Configuration/System
Check the box for Winzip to be associated with archives.
