Partition Magic setup laptop Options Advertisers

I need to set up partitions on an HP Pavilion 9000 notebook using
Partition Magic 8.

As delivered the notebook has
Disk 1 with partitions OS primary, HP Recovery primary, Local Disk Type
D7 primary;
Disk 2 Data.
My needs are for a second OS partition and BootMagic on disk 1. I
suppose I need to keep HP Recovery and Local Disk, but they seem to
complicate things as it's only possible to have 4 primary partitions.
That, and the correct placing of of BootMagic, is where I hit problems
I don't understand.

On disk 2 I need two separate partitions - Data and Archive.

Appreciate some hints on setting this computer up properly.

Unless your willing to reinstall the OS at some point with external media,
and unless you have made restore cd's for your system.
You're going to need that HP restore partition. to restore your system to as
new from the factory.
boot magic needs to be installed after your 2nd OS is installed, else it
will not find it.
What is going to be the 2nd operating system? if some version of XP then
you should give it 20 gig for install and expansion
how else you set the partitions is up to you.

if want to wipe the 2nd disk and start fresh, then you need to state the
size of the 2nd hd in total. for suggestions
