Hi. Recently I tried to use File and Settings Transfer wizard using a network connection. BOth WIndows running WIndows XP (1 has Service pack 2 and other does not). I run the wizard on old PC then I go to new pc and the new cannot get to the .DAT file on the old, because it cannot find the OLD computer!. I try to PING the old PC and it times out. BUt the OLD PC CAN ping the new. What can I do to make this work? Firewall is OFF on OLD pc. File and print sharing is on , on OLD pC. I have teh C drive on old PC as a SHARE with full permissions. PLEASE HELP! |

David, If the old computer can access the new computer, then create a folder in the new computer, and share it. Then move the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard image (USMT2.UNC folder) to the newly created share.
