Buy Excel. You might find the free Open Office works. I'm not sure as I don't use it but it would be worth looking into if you don't want to buy Excel. -- Please repost if you find the fault Glen P ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "graybrass" <graybrass@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:932870B6-B41A-4CC6-9E7C-2782DA42798F@microsoft.com... > I've just bought a new PC with microsoft works version 8. Open Office will be just fine if the workbooks don't contain complicated macros. -- Gordon Burgess-Parker Systems and Management Accounting www.gbpcomputing.co.uk |

File/Open file (if I remember) and open the file in .XLS format (or similar). If you decide to purchase Excel either as part of a Office edition or a stand-alone, your Works 8 is a qualifying product for the upgrade version. Don |

Thanks in advance. 1) Go to store/shop that sells computer software. 2) Purchase Excel (or the Office suite). 3) Return home. 4) Insert installation CD in PC's CD drive and follow the on-screen prompts and instructions to install application and desired additional features. For the budget-minded (who also don't need all of Excel's more advanced features), there's the free, open source OpenOffice: http://www.openoffice.org/ -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -Benjamin Franklin |
