windows xp Display Settings not saved in Profile on Exit Options Advertisers

I set my display setting to windows classic, my screen saver to photo
show, and change my desktop wallpaper. When I reboot, all my settings
are reset to the defaults, though the display box shows that Windows
Classic is selected, not XP. I am running the new XP media Center
version. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Try this from MVP Kelly Theriot:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm - Save Settings on Exit

Num 1:
This worked for me: Make sure you have a valid .icm (color management file) associated with your monitor, and that your monitor settings are not generic. I installed a monitor specific .icm file, associated it as the default profile, and all my display settings stuck.
