Speech Options Advertisers

before I install office 2007, can someone tell me, if microsoft speech
dictation program is available in 2007 beta?
I would hate to lose my speech recognition !

Also, if I'm unhappy with 2007 will uninstalling it completely restore my
2003 office ?
I apologize in advance for the questions , but I'm a great believer in
prevention is better than cure

This answer is coming from another cautious soul: Don't do it. If you have
what you need now, why do you want to risk screwing something up with a test
version that will expire in a few months?

If your OS is XP then the answer is yes, microsoft speech will work with
Office 2007. I've been using it all day and have had no problems. I started
training my speech recognition before installing Office 2007 and I did not
have to retrain it. Regarding an uninstall, I can't be sure and the speech
recognition Engine (SRE) is not imbedded in windows XP. Most likely it was
installed when you installed your last office product. I believe if your
running XP then you have to have service Pack 1 or later installed to use
SRE. If you have the windows xp Plus! pack then you don’t need office to use
SRE – it’s included with that software. Also, if you are an advanced user,
you may want to look into downloading the Speech software Dev kit, I would
read some tech articles about this option.
Honestly, I think once you start using the Office Beta 2 you won’t want to
go back to Office 2003. Office 2007 is just that great!
