The new ribbon is good for mouse users, but for keyboard users it is MUCH more complicated that the older office. E.g. to open a dialog in Office 2003 one pressed 2 keys (alt+t, z, in the german windows to open the font settings). Now in Office 2007 I have to press 5 keys instead of 2!! That is very very low usability. For the ribbon 'Home' I have to press Alt + Y1?? Why not Alt + H. Would be simpler and logical. And the accelerator for the textes in the ribbon are not shown. I have to press Alt and the wait for around a second. Please show them always (when the system settings is set to show the accelecators) When pressing the Alt key, the accelerator keys for the ribbon are shown. but it is not clear if they belong to the textes or to the sections below the textes Why is the item 'Settings' in the file menu next to 'close'? It seems you have not found another place for it. Why not list it in the file menu? Or why not put it left to the help button? ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Hi Chris, Be sure to use the 2007 microsoft Feedback tool from the link below to send your suggestions and comments directly to microsoft (may be clearer for them to act on any suggestions if sending each idea individually using that tool <g>). FWIW, you may want to also stop by the Office 2007 user Interface Team blog at http://blogs.msdn.jensenh.com . In the topics there they covered the reasons why they chose to not put 'underlines' on accelerator keys. In both Word 2003 you can still use Ctrl+D to go directly to the old style fonts dialog (i.e. the 'Alt-x' commands for the top level menus are different, but the MS goal was to keep all of the previous version keyboard shortcuts intact. I don't have the German version running. In the English language mode 'H' is the Home key tab selector in Word rather than Y ================== <<"Chris G" <Chris G@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:006484C4-7322-4614-94BB-D3C8C7D674A0@microsoft.com...
