MSASCui Options Advertisers

In my start up file I only have 4 things checked - an ebay alert, winpatrol,
msnmsgr and something called MSASCui
(command c:\ProgramFiles\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide )
LocationHKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows|CurrentVerion|Run

My startup is very slow, and although I took pccguide (Trend Micro) - it is
still appearing on the system tray, and still slow to load up.

Are any one of the above causing it to be slow?
Judy

download and run Process Explorer
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

Double click on the process(s), reading it's image and command line
will tell you where to find them.

Right clicking on the Process and selecting Google will describe the
process.

Also in the upper right is a CPU graph if you click to enlarge it you
can run your mouse over the graph and see just what's bogging down
your system

Did as you said Derry, tho I must say I'm none the wiser, it seems they all
have a legitimate reason to be there, but I tried to stop Trend pencillin
from startup - and it just keeps putting itself back. When I use msconfig
its not there, but it still appears on the system tray. Still seems slow
to me.

With Process explorer and this process list
http://www.processid.com/processes.html right click on a process and
kill it - keep doing this until you have found your problem or have to
reboot :)
